I served with Wing Commander Jock O Neil and was saddened by the news of his death.
It brought back the memory of an epic football match played in the early sixties between 4 Police District and 3 Police District at RAF INNSWORTH.
The match was the DE PUTRON TROPHY final refereed by SQN LDR Jock O'Neil.
4 District won 1-0.The match at full time was 0-0,After extra time 0-0.We played on until the first team to score would claim the Trophy.
Alan Hitchen scored the goal which gave 4 District the Trophy much to the delight our APM Wing Commander (Father)  H M SHEPARD.
Attached is a photograph of the winning team and match officials.
