Car Parking arrangements have changed since our last visit to the Crown Plaza Hotel Crawley.

The barriers are no longer in use and Car Parking is now controlled by ParkingEye, Car Park Management. last week. They are a private and independent company apart from the hotel.

You now have to register your vehicle with Crown Plaza Reception each day you use the car park and that is it. No tickets and the barriers are always up. Your vehicle will be photographed and timed each time you use and leave the car park.

FAILURE to register with reception will result in you receiving a letter through the post with a £100.00 Fine and photographic evidence of your stay, as I found out yesterday when I received one, from a visit to the hotel last week with Tony Harbour.

If do receive such a letter, it can be mitigated by reception, but not without a lot of admin work by the Reception staff and yourself in order that Crown Plaza can present your case to ParkingEye for cancellation.

 

 

 

 

As you are aware, the South Downs Branch of the Association has agreed to host the Association’s 2014AGM in its 30th Anniversary year. Following previous success in 2012, The Branch is therefore pleased to invite all members of the association and guests to the 2014 AGM, to be again held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Langley Drive, Crawley, West Sussex, RH11 7SX, to be held on the 11th - 13th April 2014. We enclose a hotel brochure.

We also include a draft AGM Programme, (which is of course subject to change). However we can confirm that the ‘Swingtime Sweethearts’ are again confirmed, and it is anticipated that further entertainment will also be provided as well as the usual attractions of an excellent dinner and high-quality raffle, to follow the actual business of the AGM. We will again have our own reception area, and access to 2 bars.

The hotel is a modern and recently refurbished 4 star hotel with a full range of amenities and guests have full use of the health facilities and pool. The South Downs Branch has negotiated excellent rates, (which are reduced from the 2012 rates), which are fully detailed below.

We have selected this hotel as it is well situated for all transport links in the area, and is close to London. The Hotel is close to (but not underneath the flight path of) Gatwick Airport, which of course has excellent links with other UK provincial airports via low-cost airlines, and Gatwick railway station is served via an every 15 minute express non-stop service to London Victoria station. The hotel is also approximately 5 miles from the M23 for road travellers.

This excellent package has been negotiated to include good options so that guests can tailor their weekend, at very reasonable cost when compared to recent AGM’s. As a special bonus, c/card details will be taken, but no deposit is taken at the time of booking. The full balance is payable on departure from the hotel.
