On 11 November 2012 RAFPA Member John Reid attended the Armistice Day Service in his village of Saint Front la Riviere in South West France along with the Mayor and local President of the Anciens Combatants and approx 60 villagers. The 2 Standard Bearers raised and lowered their standards in saluite while the French National Anthym was played and the names of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice from the village were read out from the Memorial and after each name the assembled replied " Morts Pour La France " (Died for France). Flowers were then laid on the Memorial and letters were read out from President of France and the National President of the Anciens Combatants. To conclude the ceremony, and as is now customary John laid a RBL Remembrance Cross and saluted as a mark of respect to The Fallen. Afterwards a social was held in the village hall.
