Greetings RAFP Association from Down Under. Please find enclosed a few photos from this years Remembrance Day Service in Alice Springs. I served in the RAF Police from 1980 to 1984 serving at RAF Waddington and RAF Bishops Court. I then served in the North Yorkshire Police and Metropolitan Police for 19 years. After marring an Australian and having 4 children we decided to relocate back to Australia initially joining the Queensland Police and then transferring to the Northern Territory Police. I am now serving here in the Alice after 5 years in Darwin, including a 2 year secondment with the Australian Federal Police at Darwin Airport. I also served out bush in two remote Aboriginal Communities for 16 months. These were 3 man stations where the nearest back up was a 3 hour drive away! a far cry from my days walking the wire at Waddington or walking the beat in Soho. Whilst working out bush I received a Commendation for Brave Conduct (Australian Bravery Decoration) this is the Australian equivalent of a Queens Commendation for Bravery. My family have recently visited from England and with my Father being Ex 3 Para we thought we would fly the flag on Anzac Hill here in Alice Springs. Keep up the splendid work and keep fighting the good fight. UTRINQUE PARATUS FIAT JUSTITIA
