In 2015 work was
completed on the construction of a paved area around the
RAF Police Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum,
Alrewas, Staffordshire. The area provides spaces for
engraved granite stones to be placed by those who wish
to honour the memory of deceased members of the RAF
Police “family”.
The granite stones, measuring 200mm x 100mm
and engraved with the name of the deceased can be
purchased for £90 (which includes VAT) per stone. The
engraved granite memorial stones will be inserted in the
area and dedicated at an Annual ceremony held in June of
each year. Each stone is limited to three lines each
able to contain a maximum of 16 characters or spaces.
Line 1 – to show the RAFP rank of the
deceased.
Line 2 – to show the name of the deceased
Line 3 – to show the dates of his/ her birth and death.
A larger granite “Queen’s “stone has been
placed at the memorial end of the paved area engraved
with the words “IN LOVING MEMORY”.
