We all know how well American service personnel are looked after. The PX and Commissary immediately spring to mind. Less well known in the UK, but equally excellent is the United Services Automobile Association (USAA), the tenth biggest financial institution in the USA, whose sole purpose is to provide financial, insurance and other services to the US Armed Forces.

In January 2001, Affinitas, a totally independent British company, modelled on the USAA concept, was set up. A management team of former Officers and Senior NCOs from all 3 Services was formed, who truly understood the unique lifestyle of the Armed Forces. A small number of people with financial, insurance and commercial background were also recruited to create the right blend of experience and expertise.

In June 2001 our state of the art, one stop shop, Service Centre became operational and we started trading as an insurance intermediary, offering products tailored to military needs. In Spring 2002 we acquired the Armed Forces Financial Advisory Service (AFFAS) from Willis, with their range of MOD approved products. Our products now include:

·       Mortgages
·       Low cost Private Health care

Because we met an unfulfilled need, our growth has been explosive. In our first year we have achieved over 20,000 members, to become one of the largest specialist Armed Forces service providers.

The cornerstone of our philosophy is our exclusive commitment to serving active, reserve and retired Service personnel and their families. We are determined to offer our Members outstanding service together with products that represent real value for money. Membership also gives eligibility to discounted goods and services that we have negotiated on your behalf.
