As you know I run the website and also the egroup on Yahoo - RAFPA1.
Previously Neil Rusling was my deputy on the website and we shared the duties of the egroup. Neil has now started a new life in Cape Town and quite reasonably would like a rest from this so I am asking for volunteers for deputies - either one for each or one who can manage both.
Duties are not onerous. For the website you really need to know a little of what you are doing with web page editing but in the main, I manage everything and if I go away for any period of time I put a notice to this effect on the website. Normally it mattered not if the webpage wasn't updated for a few days but now the notification for the corteges at Wootton Bassett really need putting in the calendar at short notice. All other updates can wait until I get back. Apart from holding the passwords and FTP details - just in case - that's it really.
With the eGroup, again there is little to do - I manage it but occasionally messages need approving for those members who are moderated for various reasons, messages identified as Spam by Yahoo need checking and approving and maybe new members need approving. It is all automated and the deputy would be a moderator and receive all the emails which then need approving or not as the case may be. Also they need to keep an eye on the size of the emails. Again it is just if I am away from a long time and out of touch with the internet. Having just bought an EEE PC, I will be more contactable than before but it is a "just in case" position again.
