On 11th November, the White Hart Hotel in Lincoln once again saw a party of members of the East Midlands Branch of the RAF Police Association gathering to attend a service at Lincoln Cathedral.   The Service was the Remembrance Sunday Service which was to be conducted by the Dean of Lincoln.

24 East Midlands Branch members were: present

The Cathedral, a Special Place to the Royal Air Force was packed.   Seven RAF Squadron Standards were paraded and raised at the Altar.   David Marr paraded the RAFPA (EMB) Standard and Trevor Evans laid a wreath to the memory of Corporal Brent McCarthy, RAF Police, KIA in Afghanistan 2012, and to all those members of the British Armed Forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

The readings were by Major Lynn Bateman, OC Lincoln Detachment, 212 Field Hospital, an Afghanistan Veteran, and Staff Sergeant Kate Maskell this years Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire’s Army Cadet.   For a young girl in front of a congregation of a couple of thousand she did a magnificent job.   The sermon was delivered by the Reverend Canon John Patrick, Subdean of Lincoln.

After the Service everyone repaired to the White Hart where a convivial lunch was enjoyed before dispersing, having had a memorable experience.
