The RAF Police Association was formed by serving and
ex-members of the RAF Police and Provost Branch at a meeting of interested
persons held at RAF Newton in 1984. Membership is open to persons who have
served, or who are serving, in the Royal Air Force Police, Provost Branch, Admin
(Prov & Sy) Branch, Auxiliary Police and Kennelmaids.
In addition, membership has been extended to include former members of Allied Air Forces Police eg RCAF, RAAF, RNZAF, USAF who are resident in the UK
The objects of the Association are to afford members the facilities of meeting together for the purpose of advancing the objects of the Association; to foster good fellowship and to advance the spirit of comradeship formed during service with the RAF Police.
An Annual General Meeting is held on a yearly basis, which is usually combined with a reunion to enable members to meet old colleagues and form new friendships.
The branches run themselves as agreed by their members and have their own Branch Officers. Meetings are held on a more frequent basis, at an agreed location within their own area.
Membership of the Association entitles members to free issues of the Provost Parade magazine and The Griff newsletter, and some branches have their own newsletter.
For details of membership, please contact in the first instance, the Membership Secretary. If connection problems are encountered contact either of the other National Officers.
