"The RAF Police 100 Rugby Festival, took place on Saturday 19 May 2018, at Aylesbury Rugby Football Club. The RAF Police ladies lost to a combined English Police team. The RAF Police gentlemen lost to the Metropolitan Police team. But (and a big but), was that those who know about rugby, say they were both closely fought games.

The RAF Police Association were permitted to share the RAF Police marquee. Under Brian Flinn's close supervision, Joy Flinn and Ali White maintained our display and answered many questions throughout a long very hot day and we thank the ladies for their great efforts.

Chairman Alan Mitchell lead our small contingent in guard of honour duties, plus leading out the 4 teams onto the pitch. There everyone stood to attention for the "Last Post" and later for the National Anthem. The Association National Standard was paraded by Nigel Lacey, Whitshire by Brian Flinn and London by Roy Laver. The following variously took part in the day's events. Roger Dengate, John Walton, Bill White, Andy Davies, Mike Archer, John Crosby, Wayne Dewfall, Peter Todd, Keith Button. On "duty" we were all under the command of Bill Veazey MBE, the Association National Parade Marshal. In addition and keeping us all safe, was the Rev Jez Safford.

A hot and sunny day was enhanced by the cheerful crowd of over 2000 bodies and the high professionalism of the RAF Police and the Association members taking part".
